Is Essential Thrombocytosis a blood cancer? - essential thrombocytosis more condition_symptoms

A parent has been diagnosed with essential thrombocytosis. The condition was detected platlette due to a high number, confirmed by biopsy of the bone marrow. She takes Hydrea.

We can not work if it is a type of blood cancer or not. Does anyone know?

This is not cancer but a blood disease. A very serious. It can lead to cancer, but less than 1% of patients. The survival rate was able to research is 65% up to 10 years. It seems somewhat or very rare findings and there were some "not clear" what you do in places that I studied.
